J. PRETI, JD, Principal, Midgett & Preti PC
Mr.
Preti is a graduate of
Randolph-Macon
College
in Ashland, Virginia
and earned his Juris Doctor degree from the T.C. Williams
School
of Law at the University
of
Richmond. While at the T.C.
Williams
School
of Law, Mr. Preti was a Merit Scholar and was named to the University
of
Richmond Law Review
and the Moot Court Board. Mr. Preti practices in the areas of estate
planning, estate and trust administration, fiduciary litigation, elder law
and family business planning. He is experienced in
guardianship/conservatorship proceedings and is certified by the Virginia
Supreme Court as a guardian ad
litem. Mr.
Preti lectures frequently on estate planning and probate administration
matters as well as business law matters. He has served as an Adjunct
Professor of Law at Regent University School of Law, where he taught Mergers
and Acquisitions. His civic activities include membership in the
United Way
of South Hampton Roads and he served as Area Commissioner for the Virginia
Rush Soccer Club (Great Neck). He is a member of the Hampton Roads Tax
Forum, the Hampton Roads Estate Planning Council, the
National
Academy
of Elder Law Attorneys and the Hampton
Roads Chapter of the Financial Planning
Association. He is also Past President of the Hampton Roads Chapter of
the Financial Planning Association. |

JOHN
T. MIDGETT, JD, Principal, Midgett & Preti PC
John
T. Midgett is a principal in Midgett & Preti PC. His practice is
concentrated in the related areas of estate planning, administration and
taxation, elder law, and family business planning. John is a native of
Hampton Roads, having graduated from
Lake
Taylor
High School
in Norfolk
in 1971. He is also a graduate of the University
of
Virginia, where he attained a Bachelor of Arts degree, with Distinction in
1975. He is a 1978 graduate of the T.C. Williams School of Law at the
University of Richmond, where he was a member of the Law Review. John is a former instructor
for the estate planning and administration programs at Tidewater
Community College. John has also written and lectured to other attorneys, accountants,
and trust officers in the related areas of estate planning, taxation and
administration for the continuing education required in the various
professions.

In
addition to his practice and speaking schedule, John is actively involved in
the Hampton Roads Estate Planning Council, the National
Academy
of Elder Law Attorneys, and
the Duke University Estate Planning Council. John is also the
Immediate Past President of the Hampton
Roads Gift Planning Council. In May, 2006 he was elected by the Board
of Directors of the National Association of Estate Planners & Councils
as an Accredited Estate Planner. John has been rated as "AV" in
the areas of estate planning and administration, the highest designation
available to attorneys in the Martindale-Hubbell Law Directory. John
has been named to Virginia Business Magazine's Legal
Elite, and has been
included in the 2006 and 2007 editions of The
Best Lawyers in America.

SHANNON
MATTIZA, Marketing Manager, Property & Casualty Insurance, First Command

Shannon
Mattiza is a Property and Casualty Marketing Manager at First Command
Financial Services in Fort Worth, Texas. Shannon
has played an instrumental
role in the development of the Property and Casualty Insurance team
traveling nationally to educate First Command Financial Advisors on the
importance of understanding Property and Casualty coverage as part of the
risk management cornerstone of the client's financial plan.
Shannon
enjoyed a full scholarship playing basketball for Baylor
University
while earning her Bachelors of Art major, emphasizing Graphic Design.
At Baylor, she also took many marketing classes which prepared her for her
current Marketing Manager role. Today, Shannon
is working towards the first of many designations within Property and
Casualty field, the Certified Insurance Counselor. Shannon lives in
Midlothian,
Texas
with her husband, Scott, and their two boys, Dalton
and Haylen. She is active within her community, school
district and with the Midlothian Sports Association. |

Mary
Jo has been in public accounting since 1983. Her areas of expertise

construction, professional practices, retail and service industries.

L. SHULER, CPA, Goodman & Company
Patrick
has 23 years of experience in the accounting profession. In addition
to his public accounting experience, Patrick has served as the chief
financial officer for a national organization and in other key financial and
managerial roles in the private sector. Patrick's area of expertise
in financial and consulting services includes developing accounting systems
and implementing business strategies. He offers assistance relating to
capital formation and expansion of business parameters with extensive
experience in consulting for small businesses and ensuring compliance with
regulatory requirements relating to presentation and reporting of accounting
data. Patrick also has experience in the implementation of control
systems and training individuals in accounting-related roles, as well as
providing other tax and financial related services. Patrick also works

Todd
pioneered building asset allocation portfolios when he was Chief Investment
Strategist at Morningstar Associates and manager
of the Transamerica/IDEX Asset Allocation fund of funds. During his
10-year tenure at Morningstar he analyzed a wide universe of funds. He
has 16 years of investment experience with extensive macroeconomics training
from the University of California,
Berkeley
and Harvard
University.

Mr. Jeffrey W. Lang, Sr. is a Financial Planner and the Managing Principal of the Baltimore office of Lincoln Financial Advisors, a Registered Investment
Advisor and Broker-Dealer. He attended Towson University in Baltimore, Maryland.
He received his CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ designation
from the College for Financial Planning in 1984. He attended The Richard D. Irwin Graduate School at the American College where he earned a Master
of Science in Financial Services degree in 1992, the Master of Science in Management degree in 1995 and a Chartered Leadership Fellow designation in
2004. He was the recipient of LFA Baltimore's prestigious Legacy Award in 1997.
The FPA of Maryland awarded Jeffrey its 2004 Planner of the Year.
Currently, he is a member of the adjunct faculty for professional studies for the CFP® program at the University of Baltimore and Villa Julie College.
He
is frequently invited as a guest lecturer at The American College, The University of Maryland, The University of Baltimore, as well as professional
associations. Jeff is also a member of the Financial Planning Association of Maryland and served as its President in 2003 and it's Chairman in 2004.
Jeffrey has been active in the financial services industry since 1976.
Jeffrey has acquired additional training in mergers and acquisitions for small to
